Why You Need a Signature Scent

If I had to choose one beauty product I can not picture myself living without its perfume. Whether I am attending a gala or hiking in Malibu, I never leave home without adding fragrance to my beauty routine. I can’t recall a time when I did not spritz myself with body spray or perfume to add the final touches to my outfit. Surprisingly, I had a signature scent in preschool too. Does anyone remember Love’s Baby Soft perfume? Well when I was five years old, I delightfully showered myself from head to toe with this powdery scent before school every day and even during snack time. Having the ability to smell a fragrance that takes you back in time and brings up vivid memories like Love’s Baby Soft is special to me. Smelling fragrances like Jo Malone, Orange Blossom and Yves Saint Laurent, Babydoll instantly take me back to my youth.

Whenever someone says, “you smell like you,” I giggle to myself, and sometimes wonder what I smell like to other people? A good signature scent is equally as important as a good first impression so make sure whichever signature scent you choose will leave a pleasant recollection of you.

Determining a signature scent that emulates your personal style and taste is important too. I love having a signature scent that is unique to me and one that I can call my own. My current signature scent for Spring is Nectarine Blossom and Honey by Jo Malone. Nectarine Blossom and Honey combine nectarine, peach, plum, blackcurrant, vetiver, and acacia honey to create a sensual citrus and floral scent that isn’t overwhelming. Besides being something that people remember about you, below are three reasons why having a signature scent is so important.

1. Personalizes your identity
2. Creates lasting impressions with people
3. Evokes lovely memories
