I’m always on the hunt for cool trends or distinctive pieces that stand out in a sea of what seems to be the typical “basic” Toronto girl. Yawn… Even though being an “it” girl and rocking the latest and greatest outfits everyday sounds FAB, achieving cool girl status can often be unattainable and more importantly expensive. Let’s face it, we all don’t have $1500 to dish out on a stunning IRO jacket, SIGH, or a glam squad on speed dial. If you do, have you ever heard of the saying sharing is caring, and if you don’t this is when your favorite summer basic comes in handy. You know that summer basic you’ve been wearing for the past two years that sometimes helps you pull a killer outfit together. This summer Pretty Little Hangers wants you to try mixing some of your favorite summer basics with these three pieces to help you get summer ready in no time.
#1 Off-the-Shoulder Top
If you haven’t caught on to this hot summer trend, then it’s about time you add an off-the-shoulder top to your wardrobe. This top is from Boa Boutique, one of my favourite boutiques in the city, and it is only $54.99. Shop this top online and other cute and inexpensive summer trends at www.shopboa.ca.
#2 White Jeans
White jeans the denim that you love to hate yet hate to love. If you’re guilty of wearing this summer staple every season then you’re doing something right. White jeans are so easy to style and once you figure out a brand that flatters your shape then you should stick to it. If you’re blessed with curves, I would suggest tht you avoid form fitting white jeans or capri pants since they tend to make you appear shorter and sometimes even heavier.
#3 Boater Hat
It doesn’t get more nautical than this! I am obsessed with hats, and boater hats are apart of my current hat rotation. Hats are the perfect accessory for shielding your face from the sunshine when temperatures heat up. So many of us forget to wear sunscreen regularly (I am definitely guilty of this- OOPS!), so wearing a hat is not a bad idea and can help prevent potential sun damage. You have to agree that wearing a hat is better than nothing 🙂
