I’d heard so many amazing things about Joshua Tree from some of my friends who had visited this remote area in the Mojave Desert before me. I was sold on visiting Joshua Tree once they informed me that there was a sound bath integration experience that provided 60 minute sonic healing sessions just outside of the city. Joshua Tree instantly became apart of my travel bucket list and I knew it was a place I had to experience for myself.
Joshua Tree is an easy two and a half hour drive outside of Los Angeles, and is known to be home to a unique national park full of “Joshua Trees,” which look like trees from a Dr. Seuss book. Joshua Tree’s are so beautiful and unique, I’ve honestly never seen anything like them anywhere else in the world.
I stayed in a beautiful airbnb called Desert Wild. If you’re planning a trip to Joshua Tree, I would highly recommend booking this property. The property is located in South Joshua Tree and is a 10- minute drive from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park.

Desert Wild is every interior designers dream, designed in the Finca Style the owners did not miss a beat. I spent two nights at this gorgeous property and instantly felt so relaxed and removed from the world around me. Not only does the property have a hot tub in the backyard which is perfect for star gazing at night, but it also has a hanging chair on the front porch that makes for the best location to watch the golden time of day while sipping a glass of Rose. Other amazing facilities to note was the 5-star kitchen and swimming pool.

I was famished and ready to unwind after being on the road for hours before arriving at Desert Wild. I picked up a pizza at a local NYC-style pizzeria called Pie for the People and even though the pizza was delicious you should expect to wait awhile for your food to be prepared. Once I stuffed my face and got over my hangry-ness, I could finally relax and prepare for the activities scheduled for the next day which included exploring the national park.
Joshua Tree National Park:
If you’re unfamiliar with Joshua Tree its a national park in Southern California that has several trails, rock formations and vast Joshua Trees. Initially when my little sister asked me, “what is there to do in Joshua Tree?” I simply responded, “see the Joshua Tree’s?” The national park is the allure and in my opinion so are all of the adorable air bnb’s in the area. You can relax, rejuvenate and disconnect from technology and eh hm- social media. Even though I did not spend a tone of time in Joshua Tree, I would definitely go back for another trip and check out some of these attractions and restaurants: Arch Rock, Keys View, Cholla Cactus Garden, and Natural Sisters Cafe.

Pioneer Town:
I highly recommend checking out Pioneer Town during your stay in Joshua Tree. Built to look like an Old West movie set, Pioneer town was once the home to filming movies in the 40s and 50s. Pioneer town is a 20 minute drive from Desert Wild and is so much fun to explore. I stopped at Pioneer Town on my way back to Los Angeles.
