I attended Milan Fashion Week for the first time last month, and I completely fell in love with the energy of this magnificent Italian city. I stayed at a boutique hotel near the Piazza Della Republic. The location of my hotel was convenient and near a subway station which by the way is super easy to navigate in Milan. If you’re not keen on taking public transportation in a foreign country, I would suggest using Uber instead. Even though the city is bustling during Fashion Week, if you request an Uber 5-10 minutes before your show is ending your car will likely be waiting once you exit the show.

Even though I was only in Milan for a few days before jetting off to Paris, my schedule was fully booked with shows, and events. One of the most iconic shows I attended that week was the Roberto Cavalli show. I love the entire collection, but my favorite piece was an embellished jacket that was tailored to perfection and worn by top-model, Gigi Hadid. Neutral- toned cyclist shorts and evening jackets were accompanied by midriff-baring tops, that were offset by sequins and Moroccan inspired patterns.
The Roberto Cavalli S/S ’19 collection undoubtedly exceeded all of my expectations, and as I sat front row watching Gigi Hadid open the show my heart almost skipped a beat. Creative director, Paul Surridge’s inclusion of Cavalli’s signature animal prints on minimalistic styles was so beautifully curated, and each piece was without question mesmerizing.
