I’ve always been a fan of classic blazers (as seen here) and tailored trousers, and love this season’s power suit trend. So why not channel your inner boss babe and give this trend a try even if you don’t work in the corporate world? Take a note from Alexander McQueen’s and Wang’s Fall 2017 ready-to-wear collections and keep this trend casual by styling power pieces with these running shoes or these boots.

Clearly, I’ve embraced the power piece trend with the exception of adding a feminine twist to what some may argue is a masculine piece. My primary objective is to maintain an effortlessly chic vibe and remain comfortable when I style any look. The power piece blazer or trouser are items that can easily be styled in a way that achieves this goal.

I wore these high waisted checked trousers with a sheer mock neck tee, and duster coat. I styled my outfit with these leather mules which I’ve been lusting after for over a year. I’m happy that I made the decision to splurge on these classic flats since they’ve instantly become my go-to flats to wear this season. Mules and loafers are a staple in my closet, especially during the cooler months. I also added a vintage beret from a trip I took to Paris years ago, an embellished bucket bag, and a pair of hexagon sunnies to complete my look. Do you like hexagon framed sunglasses or the popular colored lens sunglass like these pink beauties I wore in the summer- I can’t get enough of either style!

BTW, I have a very fun trip coming up soon and I’m super pumped so stay tuned for more details. Here’s a hint, I am going on another exotic retreat like the trip I took to Bali earlier this year (see my Bali travel guide here). I want to order this top and this dress from REVOLVE for my trip. I can’t wait to reveal where I’m going!

What do you think of the resurrection of this 80s trend?

xo, Britney

LOVE how you styled these trousers with the flat mules instead of heels for a more comfortable everyday look that’s still so chic!
