Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had the best time with your family and loved ones over the holiday season. I took some much needed time off and relaxed with my family during Christmas and went to New York for NYE. New Year’s Eve was a bit different for me this year. This year marked the first time in years that I spent December 31st with my family watching the ball drop in Times Square from the comfort of our Airbnb in NYC, and I must admit it was probably one of the most memorable NYE’s I’ve had to date.
I can’t believe January is almost over and Fashion Month is right around the corner. I have a few trips coming up, and I can’t wait to share all of my adventures with you soon. But before I jet off from Toronto, I wanted to reveal a list of intentions I want to follow to start my year off on the right track. Did you all set goals and make intentions for yourselves this year?
Wellness & Fitness- My wellness and fitness routine lacked consistency in 2018. I was stressed and overwhelmed daily last year since I did not have a set workout schedule or wellness routine to follow regularly. I refuse to feel stressed and anxious this year so I plan to incorporate more workout classes along with a concrete wellness routine that I can follow daily. I’ve been practicing yoga and eating healthier consistently so far and I already feel 100 times better. Below are a few wellness and fitness recommendations that I’ve tried this year.
Wellness:
In 2018, I had a wonderful wellness coach named Nicole who helped me create my first wellness plan. Even though I didn’t stick to this plan throughout the year, having a wellness plan made me realize how important being consistent and having a routine is super beneficial for my health (yes we are all human and get overwhelmed). Even though Nicole and I did not create a new wellness plan for this year, I am still in contact with her and touch base whenever I need to keep on track.
Meditation is another wellness principle I will implement this year. Apps like Headspace are a great tool to utilize when you are on the go. Headspace is a guided meditation app that aids in reducing stress levels by increasing mindfulness within your life. I will also attend meditation classes at Hoame, a new meditation studio in Toronto. I recently visited Hoame and fell in love with this tranquil space. Hoame offers meditation classes in a light and dark room, and also has a beautiful pink Himalayan salt room and infrared sauna available for use at the studio. If you’re interested in checking out more information about Hoame visit their website here.
Fitness:
Fitness studios like F45, Studio Lagree, and Power Yoga Canada are a few of the amazing workout classes that I have incorporated into my weekly schedule when I am in Toronto. I often travel so maintaining a weekly attendance at one of these studio’s can be challenging which is why an app like Sweat: Kayla Itsines Fitness is an excellent alternative to use to whenever I travel.
Organize & Purge: I have an A-type personality so being organized in my career and at home is extremely important to me. Last year I touched on ways to stay organized throughout the year and shared a downloadable printable here. Not much has changed in my organizational techniques except for I’ve now implemented an online content planner that I update monthly and share with others. Other ways I stay organized are by using a day planner. This year I was bourgeois and pulled out my old Louis Vuitton agenda and bought calendar sheet refills so I could start using it again this year. You don’t have to buy a designer day planner to stay organized there are so many cute alternatives like this one or this one.
Book a Vacation: Life is short and time waits for no one so why not book that vacation that you’ve always wanted to go on but never made the time to plan or do? My schedule is usually jam-packed with work and sometimes its hard to find the time to unplug and be present. I would love to travel to Peru, China, and England, all three countries I’ve never visited before and somehow manage to be stay focused on the trip rather than explicitly creating content. The common goal and theme for 2019 is balance.

March 26, 2019These are such positive intentions.
“Book a Vacation” struck a note with me. Each year, my highlights have nearly always been the trips I’ve gone on.
I should prioritise them more in 2019!
Cheers,
