Casual Canada Day Outfit

I attended a special event at the Fairmont Royal York in honor of Canada’s 150th birthday on Tuesday. I learned about the hotel’s 88-year history in Toronto while enjoying a Crown Royal infused cocktail and nibbling on pastries prepared by executive chef, Robert Mills. One noteworthy pastry I tried that evening was the chocolate birthday cake which Mills bakes using a recipe from one of the Royal family’s personal chefs. I am still daydreaming about this decadent cake and cannot wait to have another serving during the hotel’s iconic high tea. How are you planning to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday this year?

If you’ve finalized your long weekend plans but are still mulling over what to wear then check out my Canada Day and Fourth of July round-up that I put together here. Depending on where you’re celebrating, whether it be at a BBQ, lake-house or in the city this chambray shift dress and suede bow sandals would be a great option to wear. I will be spending Canada Day in New York this year, but I will definitely still be celebrating in spirit back at home. Happy 150th Canada!
