Weekend Getaway to San Francisco

I took a quick trip to San Francisco this past weekend for my aunt's 60th birthday party. I flew into San Fran Friday evening, checked into my hotel, and grabbed a quick bite to eat with my mom before rushing to get ready for the party.

Though I went to San Francisco specifically for my aunt's party exploring more of this beautiful city over the weekend was an absolute must for me. If you live in Southern California, and you're craving a visit to the east coast or Canada, a weekend getaway to San Francisco can help cure that craving. With quaint cafes, colorful architecture and cypress trees lining the city's peninsula it's no wonder San Francisco is a popular destination in California.

Several highlights from my weekend include visiting Golden Gate Park, eating lunch at Rose's Cafe, and making a pit stop at Jo Malone and the Bud Stop flower shop (you all know how much I love flowers). If you're ever in the area and decide to visit Rose's Cafe, I highly recommend ordering the fennel salami pizza, chopped salad, and a mint lemonade- all three things were delicious!

Just a heads up the weather is slightly cooler by the water near the Golden Gate Bridge and usually pretty windy (poor Winston almost blew away haha) so make sure you wear layers or a light sweater like this long sleeve cardigan by Graham to keep warm.

I am currently in Los Angeles, and boy is the weather hot! Have any of you visited San Francisco or California? I would love to know what are some of your favorite things to do in each city?

Beauty with a Twist Daily Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Hair care is definitely something that I obsess over especially since I have color-treated hair. I am constantly looking for new products that maintain the color, strength and health of my hair. After discovering the benefits of sulfate free shampoo's and conditioner's a few years ago buying hair products with either ingredient listed on the bottle was no longer an option.

That's why I was excited to try Beauty with a Twist's daily shampoo and conditioner. This hair care line uses organic ingredients and is paraben and sulfate free which is exactly the type of hair care products that work best for my hair between salon visits.

If you have dry, frizzy hair like me then finding a product that hydrates and adds moisture to your hair is so important. Beauty with a Twist gently cleanses your hair, protects and preserves salon color, and adds shine and moisture. I was impressed with how soft my hair felt after just one wash. Not only does this shampoo and conditioner lock in shine but the subtle scent of coconut and peach is intoxicating. I highly recommend trying these hair care products especially if you have color-treated hair like me. For more information on Beauty with a Twist's products check out their website here.

For all of my Canadian followers Beauty with a Twist is now available on Amazon.ca!

Self Portrait Dress in Greece

Dress: Self Portrait, (similar style here) | Shoes: Steve Madden | Purse: Stella McCartney ON SALE, (Dark denim version here) | Bracelets: Tory Burch, (similar style here) & Cartier | Sunglasses: Dior, (similar style here

My trip to Europe ended in Greece, and I was thrilled to be back in this gorgeous country. I spent four days in Mykonos, one day in Athens and the remainder of my time in Argos and Nafplio. These photos were taken during my stay in Nafplio a small seaside town located 20 minutes away from Argos, and a two-hour drive from Athens. Unlike popular destinations in Greece like Santorini and Mykonos, Nafplio is a quaint town with tons of culture, medieval castles, and stunning architecture with a Venetian flaire. The breathtaking views, entertaining beach clubs like BluBlanc, and charming restaurants aren't the only things this town has to offer. If you're looking for an adventure and love to explore I highly recommend climbing up nearly one thousand stairs (bring water you'll need it) to the top of the Palamidi fortress where you can explore the old castle and catch a glimpse of one of the most tranquil views of this region. I would also recommend indulging in a late night crepe, and sipping a cocktail at a bar along the waterfront overlooking the Bourtzi.

If I had to choose one dress to explore Greece in then, this sleeveless Self Portrait dress would get my vote. Not only are the ruffles and floral details darling but once I noticed that the dress had pockets and was surprisingly breathable I knew that I needed it for my European wardrobe. I cannot express how much I love a dress with pockets! Self Portrait did not disappoint with this lovely little number. I'm even considering buying it in this blue version as well.

Yasas Greece! Until we meet again

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ends this Sunday, and there is still a ton of cute stuff in stock. Make sure you shop your favorite items before they are all gone. I am ordering these Steve Madden boots, these Rag and Bone booties, and this Iro Tweed Jacket from my wish list before the sale ends.

I put together a list of items from the #nsale that look strikingly similar to their designer counterparts, but the difference in price is worth taking a closer look. I am a huge believer in cost effective ways to get a high-end look , and the art of mixing high and low pieces together. If you can get a designer dupe that's just as cute and durable why not indulge.

Happy Camper T-shirt

T-shirt: Sub_Urban Riot | Shorts: H&M, (similar style here) | Shoes: Converse | Watch: Skagen | Earrings: Liberty | Sunglasses: Ray-ban | Bracelets: Cartier and Hermes | Lipgloss: Dior Addict Lip Glow  (Sheer Pink) | Lip Pencil: MAC (Boldly Bare)

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope all of my Canadian reader's had a great long weekend.

I picked up this happy camper t-shirt from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last week for $21.90, and it was the perfect shirt to wear at my friend's cottage this past weekend. You can pair it with leggings, denim, or shorts like I did above. Please keep in mind this t-shirt runs big so I would go down a size (I bought an XS).

If you've been following my blog, then you probably know that I love to wear Converse, but I usually wear them mostly in the summer. I wore a classic pair in grey over the weekend, but I would happily get them in this mesh version as well. These sneaks were the perfect addition to my effortless cottage look.

I also scored on these really cute skinny jeans at the sale, and cannot wait to wear them. They are so cute on, fit like a glove, and would look great styled with my happy camper t-shirt. Don't you love when you find the perfect pair of denim? I know I do :)

Amalfi Coast Guide: Capri, Positano, & Sorrento

Positano Outfit:
Top: H&M, (similar style here) | Skirt: Self Portrait, similar style here | Shoes: Oscar De La Renta, (similar style here) | Hat: Scala, (similar style here)| Bracelets: Cartier and Miansai |
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Bikini: Triangl

My love affair with Europe is no secret and each time I go I am dazzled by Italy. Over the years I've been fortunate enough to visit several Italian destinations like Rome, Venice, Tuscany, and Milan, but this time, I decided to head further south to Positano, Capri, and Sorrento. Adding the Amalfi Coast to my itinerary was a no brainer since so many of my family members and friends highly recommended these places to me. I wanted a bit of peace and tranquility after visiting Barcelona and Ibiza and believe me serenity is what I experienced in the Amalfi Coast.

I flew into Naples and took a bus to my hotel in Sorrento. If you're planning to explore other areas of the Amalfi Coast then choosing Sorrento as your home base is ideal since the train station, port and bus stop are all nearby- woo! Capri is 20 mins away by ferry, and Positano is about 45 mins by bus.

Helpful tip: You can purchase a SITA bus ticket in front of the train station at the stop. View the timetables and stop locations here.

My first destination on the Amalfi Coast was the island of Capri. Capri is an easy day trip by ferry from Sorrento. I took a private boat tour around the island and explored a few of the beautiful grottos. Sadly, one of Capri's most famous caves, the Blue Grotto was closed; however, I did manage to see the welcome Statue of Scugnizzo, Faraglioni rocks, White Grotto, and Marina Piccola, which were all breathtaking. After the boat tour, I chowed down on pizza and cooled off with a delicious lemon granita on the beach (just giving you a heads up if you're looking for sandy beaches you will not find them in Capri). Capri is a magical destination with its beautiful blue water, mystical grottos and towering rock formations. You'll definitely want to go back for more. I know I do!

Helpful tip: I recommend booking a private boat tour in advance since they are usually fully reserved during high season, or you can book a group boat tour instead. Check out Gianni's Boat tours if you prefer to do a group boat tour. Gianni's tours offer beverages, towels, and cushions (all of the things I desperately yearned for during my private boat tour).

Positano was next on the agenda where sipping prosecco on the beach and taking in the stunning view is a must. Unfortunately, I only spent the day in Positano before heading back to Sorrento for the night, so I wasn't able to explore every inch of this picturesque town. However, I did eat lunch at one of the best hotels in Positano, the Hotel Sirenuse. This hotel is a cliffside oasis overlooking the Meditteranean sea with the most beautiful photo ops around the property. I spent the remainder of the day wandering around the town's narrow pathways, shopping (I purchased a pair of beautiful handcrafted sandals that were made right in front of me) and lounging on the beach. Before leaving Positano, I had to have a cocktail and watch the sunset at Franco's Bar, an outdoor bar beside Hotel Sirenuse. Make sure you reserve a table near the balcony railing and order the La Dolce Vita, which is a gin and prosecco-based drink that is to die for.

Helpful tip: Avoid overly crowded buses and the chance of not getting a seat on the bus by waking up bright and early and hauling ass to the stop. I would advise that you get there 15- 20 mins ahead of time to get a seat, and avoid standing in the aisle. Though access to the bus stop is nearby, you can also reserve a car service to drive you to and from Positano.

If you're thinking about traveling to Italy and need to book a hotel or flight, I recommend using booking.com. I used this site to book most of my hotels for this trip including my hotel in Sorrento.

ALSO, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is still going on until August 8th, and I know that some of the items are going out of stock quickly but I recommend checking back on the site as products are often restocked. If you're planning a trip there are some adorable summer pieces on sale that are perfect for any vacay- I'm linking my favs below!
